And that’s it! That’s the end of chapter 8! I still have a poem and an interstitial page to post, so it’ll be a few weeks before you can find out what’s next for Maida, but it looks like maybe not the Moon! Whoops!

Panel 1: The cylinder having risen to meet the ceiling of the gateway above Maida, it now starts filling with liquid. Maida, obviously upset, tries to say something but the cylinder is sound-proof. Zaynab beats on the outside of it. Zaynab: "Maida!!" Uniformed cops approach them.
Panel 2: The liquid reaches up to Maida's chin.
Panel 3: Now full, the cylinder starts to rise off the floor, taking Maida with it.
Panel 4: Zaynab continues to beat on the glass, shouting Maida's name. Maida's head is under water. Announcement: "Please remain calm. Stand back from the containment cylinder. For yur safety."
Panel 5: The cylinder with Maida trapped inside rises into the ceiling of the gateway, out of sight. Announcement: "Please continue to follow blue lines towards yer destination."
Panel 6: Announcement: "The Libreville Transit Aut'ority tanks you for yur cooperation." A crew of cops with their birds restrain Zaynab or stand around where Maida's cylinder disappeared from. Zaynab, quietly: "Maida"
